The North Texas Municipal Water District’s (NTMWD) annual report takes its cues from the systems it represents. Rather than relying on the conventional aesthetic common to public utility reports, the design borrows from the movement of water itself. Fluid shapes and containers, rippling patterns, and a color-coded system give water, wastewater, and solid waste their own visual identities while helping readers navigate the report. 

Utility reports are often dense and text-heavy, so I wanted this one to invite people in instead of asking them to work for the information. The approachable visual system helped humanize the organization, making complex infrastructure feel more accessible while giving NTMWD a friendlier, more recognizable presence that stands apart from typical municipal communications.
